Gotta be honest with you guys, my drive to continue the main page is pretty much gone. Even on my own as a personal blog. I will never shut the forums down, but I don't think the main blog has too much life left in it. I have found an outlet in the OS Arena, even if it may sound sad to some. Since it's so easy just to throw up a quick blog about nothing, and then having a lot of your friends on the same format to read and comment, just feels like my stuff is getting read, and not glanced over if that makes sense. I think once the hits for WNR started going down, and even with giveaways I realized that it's really only the same 30-40 guys, I felt why continue. Having a kid has done the same to me, I just have more important things in life right now. I get about an hour of gaming in a night, and then play with my kid, hang out with my wife, and just relax. The site isn't going away, the domain is mine and will continue to be mine. Maybe I'll change my feelings, I don't know. Just since Ethan was born, I just feel I have better things to use my time with, and writing (with passion and running a site) isn't one of them. Sorry...but again, we're not closing, forums will always remain here, just right now consider the main page an afterthought. The current staff has been putting up blogs lately, and doing a great job. Not sure how many more they have in them, so you may still see new content, just as of now, my run in trying to get articles up is finished for awhile. I guess I looked at WNR as having to make sure the articles looked "professional", and that took work. When using the OS Arena for my posting, I can throw up a 2 sentence blog, and feel that it fits the format. I hope that makes sense to you all. I appreciate everyone's support, this site would have never been anything without the members and staff I have had. They have been the backbone of this site, and have kept it going for over a year now. Just awesome stuff from all of you. Thank you again. |

If you aren't enjoying the blog stuff then I agree you shouldn't do it much anymore. The forums are fun. I feel the same way about my fantasy football league. My love for the NFL isn't what is once was and I just don't care much about fantasy football much anymore either. I've been running a league for 14 years and I really just felt like shutting it down this year but did one more year. I don't think I will do it again next year. Having kids and the time needed for them does cut into things. No need to apologize for putting them first. As for the OS Arena - I'm still dazed and confused over all this thing does. |

I figured this was coming. I've been more guilty than anyone of not submitting new content, so for that I apologize. Still though, in spite of whatever work or lack of work anyone puts into the main page, I think this site has been a great thing because it's given us a place to congregate. And the OS Arena, wondrous though it may be, can't even provide for that. So thanks for starting something here Scott because otherwise I think a lot of us probably would have just drifted apart, aside from seeing each other on XBL playing various games. I think the problem these days is that everyone is spread very thin. Between family, work, the amount of good new games that have come out recently, other commitments like fantasy leagues, and a variety of places to chat online (OS, here, SGN, etc), people are just spread very thin these days and nobody is greatly invested in any one thing no matter how much they enjoy it. I know that's the case for me and I don't even have a kid yet. So I definitely wouldn't look at things here as a failure - in my opinion they're about as good as they can be given the other stuff that we all have going on in our lives. Anyway, apologies again for not being an active content submitter but thanks again for starting something here. Even if it doesn't become any more than it already is, you've created the new Pub and for that you deserve a hearty thanks from us all. |

My two cents...it was fun writing, and if I get an idea, I'll still toss something up. Also, this is my forum "home" now, as I rarely post at OS and am marginal at best at the other forums I frequent (GTSM/BMO and KOFF). I understand about the whole "different groups" of people thing, and while some of us frequent multiple forums, others are just one or the other and won't stick around in games where other members are present...and I understand that. Still, this place has been great, the group of regulars are guys I respect and like, and I'm glad that you'll keep things open and available. I'm not that keen on the whole OS Facebook stuff, but it is what it is, and if things are posted, I'll probably read them on a passing basis. Thanks Scott for the site, and thanks everyone for making it was it is/was/will be. |

I've never been on facebook or myspace and this new OS stuff is confusing to me. Plus, I have to use osatwork forums and they are screwed up completely now. Just hitting submit on things and the java won't work at times. I don't think I can even leave comments in certain spots. |
